SWEEP

SWEEP is a collaborative cleaning-robot concept by Studio Hint and BSR, Berlin's city cleaning service. I designed the mobile app that lets street-cleaning crews work side by side with the robot.

The dashboard shows the robot's status, battery level and capacity at a glance. Two programs cover the job: Spot Clean marks an area on the map, Follow Me lets the robot follow the crew along a route. Service screens show the condition of brushes, sensors and filter, so maintenance can be planned in advance.

FAQ

Crews of BSR, Berlin's city cleaning service, operate the app outdoors and on the move.

Large touch targets, high contrast and a clear information hierarchy therefore took priority over feature depth, and the language was reduced to the essentials.

At Studio Hint I designed the mobile interface in close exchange with the team and BSR.

We started analogue: every screen pinned to the wall as a wireframe, sticky notes moved until the flow was self-explanatory – dashboard, programme, map, service. The visual layer, including the orange, came only afterwards.

The dashboard shows status, battery level and capacity at a glance.

Spot Clean marks an area on the map, Follow Me lets the robot follow the crew along a route, and service screens monitor brushes, sensors and filter so that maintenance can be planned.
