Lendle solution: borrowing tools instead of buying them
Lendle customer journey for lenders and borrowers

LENDLE

Most drills are used for just 13 minutes in their lifetime. Lendle puts them back to work: a peer-to-peer platform for renting tools instead of buying them. People rent out what they rarely use, Swiss Post delivers it and brings it back.

Created in 2022 with Johannes Schmidt in Prof. Dr. Herbert Grüner's course Open Innovation in Corporate Responsibility at KHB, in cooperation with Swiss Post. Our focus: user journey, experience design and system logic, checked for economic feasibility.

FAQ

That was the brief in Prof. Dr. Herbert Grüner's course Open Innovation in Corporate Responsibility at KHB, run in cooperation with Swiss Post: how can designers use existing infrastructure for ecological and social solutions?

Together with Johannes I developed Lendle as a peer-to-peer rental platform for rarely used tools. We focused on the user journey, experience design and system logic, and tested them for economic feasibility.

Owners list a tool and hand it over to Swiss Post; renters receive it, use it and return it through the same logistics loop (see the user journey in the images).

Sustainability
Bundled transport and fewer single-purpose tools.

Security
Professional logistics, no personal addresses disclosed.

Affordability
Access to tools without ownership.
