A team pitching on stage in front of the Hightech und Herz logo

HIGHTECH & HERZ

2 min read
The Innovation Camp Hightech & Herz brought around 60 participants from design, technology, science and health to TUECHTIG in Berlin, with the aim of developing first ideas into concepts ready to pitch. Organised by the Kompetenzzentrum Kultur- und Kreativwirtschaft des Bundes with STATE Studio, the camp assigned interdisciplinary teams to three fields: smart cities, digital health, and sexuality and technology. I took part as a product designer.

Our team HACK Ø PACK addressed digital health with one question: how can people make healthier choices at the supermarket shelf, particularly when time and money are limited? Two team members brought the data: Tobias Weishaupt, who led CodeCheck as CEO at the time, and Dr. Ruta Almedom, CodeCheck's Head of Science. The concept therefore built on the existing CodeCheck product database. Its format evolved from an interactive chopping board via AR glasses to a simple station in the fruit and vegetable aisle: scanning a product returns clear information and recipe suggestions at a glance, without the small print.

At the end of the camp each team pitched to a jury. HACK Ø PACK was one of five teams selected for Creative Lab #5, in which we developed the concept further from October to December 2022 with coaching, mentoring and a budget.

Thanks to Ruta Almedom, Celia Staffa and Tobias Weishaupt.
